Andrew Bynum Hair Duo

If you haven't seen Philadelphia Sixer center Andrew Bynum's new hair duo, the wig he has been sporting since the trade talks in LA; they have taken new form.
That's enough for his mom to intervene and cut his wig off while he sleeps.
The comparison to the late great Frederick Douglass is only embarrassing to because Mr. Douglass didn't have the barbers we have today and the brush your hair with a brick or cotton comb was the norm. Unless Bynum is paying tribute...

Make Money Online Talking About Andrew's Wig

This is where the league should intervene, and when I say league, I mean the African American player association. They need to roast him so he comes back with his regular fade. If not the AAPA, then the white guys need to start snickering when he comes up. If that don't work, they need to start fining him for flopping.

What do you think of the Philadelphia Sixer center Andrew Bynum's hair. As they would say in my hood... "Yo wig is tripping!" These the type of wigs that you say to  yourself, "I hope he can play!"

Lakers Pass on Phil Jackson

Surprisingly the Lakers passed on the demands Phil Jackson made for him to return to coaching the franchise he has helped with five NBA Championship titles. I thought ole Uncle Phil would be wobbling on the sidelines again, promising Kobe Bryant that sixth NBA title he is so desparately panting for. Nevertheless, Kobe and the Lakers got Mike D'Antoni.

Not bad, not bad, but not Uncle Phil "I-Got-11-NBA-Titles" Jackson. I can't wait to see what D'Antoni has in store for this star-studded team. He better not go 1 to 13 like ousted Mike Brown. Watch the video!

Mike Brown Laker Head Coach OUT

THIS JUST IN...Mike Brown the Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach Has Been FIRED as Head Coach and will return to broadcasting court-side...
Okay we're just kidding about the broadcasting court-side  but we're not kidding about his getting fired Donald Trump style from his seat in LA.
When Kobe gives a stare down...somebody is leaving town. Last time Kobe stared at someone like that Shaq was wearing a Heat uniform.
The consensus is that it takes 15-20 games to really evaluate how good or bad a team is. Mike Brown didn’t get nearly that long. USA Today’s Sam Amick was the first to report that Brown has been fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers after a disappointing 1-4 start (and a 0-9 preseason).
Less than 48 hours ago, Lakers owner Jim Buss gave Brown a vote of confidence. Either Buss was lying through his teeth, or he had a serious change of heart.
While it’s easy to blame the slow start on the Princeton offense that Brown decided to put in this summer, the Lakers have actually played better offensively (where they rank 6th through Thursday’s games) than defensively (23rd).
And their problems really lie with their lack of depth; L.A.’s starting lineups – with either Steve Nash or Steve Blake – have outscored their opponents by 35 points over their five games.
But ultimately, it was Brown that took the fall. The Lakers will win the title...Kobe did this on purpose to get the coach fired. He's smart but not that clever.

Post up Game - what do you think is Mike Brown deserving of being fired in the first two weeks of the basketball season and in his first 5 games?

Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant - Do They Fit Well as Lakers

Dwight Howard is arguably the most dominant center in the league.  Kobe Bryant is an undeniable legend in the game and top five player in the NBA today.  This incredible alignment of two NBA superstars should be a no-brainer.  Still, knowing the past of these two players, will Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant fit will together, is not a crazy question.  Let’s get into why this is even an issue.

Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant Do They Fit Well

Dwight Howard was originally from the Orlando Magic.  While he was on the team there was much controversy.  At times it seemed like he wanted to be a part of the Orlando Magic organization, and there were times he didn’t.  Dwight Howard complained he didn’t get enough touches (in Orlando).  His issues with his coach was becoming a problem as well, and the whole Dwight Howard versus Orlando Magic became a big mess!

Kobe Bryant has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for years.  He has five NBA Championship rings.  Still, it’s been said he didn’t get those rings as the most dominant player.  Some say Shaq was the man at the time Kobe started getting rings, and later in the years it’s been said Gasol got him rings.  People give Kobe credit for maybe one or two of his titles.  This is important because Kobe Bryant is often compared to Michael Jordan, and Michael Jordan was the undisputed leader of all six of his championship rings.

NBA Fans Want to Know - Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant Do They Fit Well Together

Kobe Bryant still has much to prove in the NBA but with limited time.  Dwight Howard has to prove he has matured after the whole Orlando Magic situation.  Still, personally I don’t think Kobe and Dwight will be a good mixture in the future for the same reasons Shaq and Kobe fell apart…EGO.

Kobe has an ego out of this world, and don’t think Dwight will be able to handle it.  I think Kobe put on a front the first few games him and Howard played like he really cared about him fitting in.  I say give it some time and Kobe will try to take over the team and be the main contributor (as he’s done the last few games). As of now they stand 1 and 4 (1-13 if you include the preseason) and they don’t look good.  The only way I feel The Lakers will get some more rings is if Kobe let’s go of his ego and let the young boy Howard become the main guy as Wade did in Miami for James. Other than that, I really don’t see Kobe doing that anytime soon because he is the “Mamba” with the Kobe-System.

Kobe Looks to Kill Someone???

Kobe doesn't look too happy, after landing the top talents in the lead to surround and guarantee his sixth NBA title. The frustration wore on the Lakers’ faces. They showed it when Mike Brown called a timeout, furiously yelling at Pau Gasol for not sprinting fast enough on defense. Dwight Howard demonstrated it when he complained to an official for not receiving a foul call, while Utah converted on the other end. Kobe Bryant showed the same reaction after getting called for charging. On and on it went. They are not happy, they are a bunch of frustrated dudes who cannot seem to get it together.

They are one out of thirteen games this year if you include preseason. We could expect they'd have troubles starting out. I personally believe Kobe is the problem. When the Celtics Big Three came together, they won right off the bat, and eventually won a title that same year.

The Heat had troubles starting out, but not as bad as the Lake-Show, so I think this year may be a bust for the Lakers. What are you thinking?

Scores and Wars from November 4th

Now we won't do this everyday, although we'd like to, but we definitely want to write on the days there are good games. Last night the Knicks showed Philly that they are ready for action this year, beating the Sixers 100 to 84. Carmelo led the Knicks in scoring with 27. The Raptors defeated the Wolves 105 to 86 and the Orlando Magic blew out the Suns.

The upset of the night was the Hawks beating the Western Conference Champions, OKC Thunder. Kevin Martin led all scorers with 28.

The big news of the night was that the LA Lakers finally go a win. They beat the "Critically Acclaimed" Detroit Pistons. They are no longer win less  however, the Pistons are not a measuring stick in the league right now. Howard led all scorers in the affair and the Lakers did make short work of this game up by thirty in the second quarter.

They have the potential, but do they have the nucleus and stamina?

Scores and Wars from November 3rd

Last night was a good night in NBA basketball, just to give a quick round up, the Celtics edged the John Wall-less Wizards 89-86; the Pacers threw down in double overtime to beat out the Sac Kings 106 to 98; the Brah Brah Brah Brooklyn Nets held on in front of a pack crowd (that included Jay-Z and Beyonce) to beat the Toronto Raptors, despite 33 points, 8 rebound, and 8 assists from point guard Kevin Lowry.

Ray Allen showed his skill and worth by hitting a three pointer in a four-point play to dismiss the visiting Denver Nuggets 119-116. Miami got a season high, and his most points scored in a Heat uniform, 40, from Chris Bosh.

The Hornets beat the Bulls, the Blazers cooled down James Harden and the Rockets; the Bucks edged the Cavs, and Dallas put a beat down on the Bobcats by 27 points. Utah got Spurred by 10 points behind Tony Parker's 24 points and the Warriors clipped the Clippers.

The most exciting teams this year (if they are playing hard that night) will be the Clippers, Warriors Heat,

  • Lakers
  • Denver
  • Celtics
  • Knicks
  • Thunder
  • and the Blazers

That's the recap, I still think the league is only about 5 to 6 teams but who knows what's coming down the pipeline. I'm out, get your daylight savings on...

Lakers Win-Less Harden Strong Start

Howard finished with 33 points, 14 boards, five assists, a block and a steal; Bryant had 30 points and six boards; Gasol 16 points and nine boards, all three playing around 40 minutes on a back-to-back; but they still have not won a game this year.

Fans are shouting to have Coach Brown fired, while others are saying Nash is not the PG they need. I think they need to get more shooters on the outside and just figure this thing out slowly.

On the other side of the country, Detroit got the first look at James Harden as he EXPLODED for a season high (it's just the first game) 37 points. Looks like he will be a block buster if can do this for the remainder of the year. His career will be saved if he can average over 25 points a game this year as the man. He needs to compete with the greats and still have a sub-par year with the supporting cast he has over there in Houston.

In other games...there were no other games I told you this league is only about 5 or 6 teams until somebody proves it otherwise...post up Due

Lakers Heat and the Rest of the NBA

After the opening day of basketball here in the NBA, most people can agree the Heat are the most likely repeat champions and that's about all we have to say. The Lakers will get things going (despite) losing every single game this year (Andrew Bynum is laughing in his grave - as Charles Barkley would say).

It is surprising that this super team cannot and have not found a way to win right out of the gate.

James Harden turned down 5 years 54 million and a chance to play in the finals the next five years to sign for 5 years 80 million and to not see the playoffs for 5 or 6 years. Way to go James...

The Heat took care of the Celtics and although it turned into a closer game, the truth of the matter is that the Celtics never really had a chance. Rondo looked unstoppable and Paul was good, just looked tired at the end; but I still think the Celtics are the second best team in the league right now (behind the Heat).

What was good was how KG did not back down on his cold feelings for Ray Allen, giving him a literal cold shoulder, but Ray didn't mind it at all. You talk about mentally tough guys that do not mind, mind games or intimidation from other veterans. Ray had a real solid game showing himself like the old Ray who can create shots and not just spot up for threes.

Let's face it folks, the NBA is about 5 or 6 teams - and about half the world hoping the Heat and Lakers lose and hoping the Pacers and Clippers win. Give your predictions now!

Will the Bulls Going to the Playoffs This Year?

First let me start by saying, yes I’m a Chicago Bulls fan, yes I rep for my city, and yes I’m going to try to not be biased in this blog. A lot has transpired this upcoming season of Chicago Bulls basketball. For the past two years this wouldn't even be a serious question. As I said, a few things happened and they need to be discussed so we can answer for sure, will the Bulls going to the playoffs this year?

Will the Bulls Going to the Playoffs This Year?

The first issue of course is Derrick Rose. As we all know Derrick Rose tore the ACL in his left knee last season. It was a sad day in all the city of Chicago at least for sports fans. He was the nucleus of the Chicago Bulls organization. After all  he was the Most Valuable Player of 2011. The issue is whether we are going to see him play this season, and if so will he be the same Derrick of old. Basketball players know what an ACL injury can do to a players body and mind.

8th Seed? – Will the Bulls Going to the Playoffs This Year?

The second issue is the demolishing of the “Bench Mob”. The Chicago Bulls bench was our bread and butter in my opinion. When all else failed you could count on the “Bench Mob” to expand the lead or at least keep us in fighting distance when the starting five were on the bench. We only have a few people from the “Bench Mob” that’s still around, and that’s a major problem for me and plenty of people in the Chicago area. This leads to my next topic.

Are the Chicago Bulls going to have the same chemistry as they did these past few years? My answer is no, because there are too many new faces. There might be some players who don’t adapt to the Tom Thibodeau style of play. It’s important that the new players adapt because everybody is important on the Bulls squad. Everybody has a specific job that they need to adhere too and perform.

Will the Bulls Going to the Playoffs This Year?

So the question remains: Will the Bulls going to the playoffs this year? My answer is yes, but it’s not going to be easy. I've heard guys slate them to be a 7th or 8th seed, which is no fun when your first round match-up is against the Miami Heat or an angry Boston Celtic crew. The Bulls have many roadblocks ahead of them. I honestly think if they do make it to the playoffs they will barely make it. I’m talking 7th or 8th seed (I hope I’m wrong). What do you think Chicago, post up Due and holler at me.

Evans Jumps Over Clippers

And the cow jumped over the moon...

This was simply amazing and funny - Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz (also the current slam dunk champion) blocked the shot of Ronny Turiaf and went up high to get in on a jump shot. And then someone in the stands yelled at Ronny telling him to "chase the guy and block his shot even though he is the current slam dunk champion, and long as the Nile river!"

Ronny heard the voice and chased after Jeremy "the slam dunk champion" Evans and jumped with ALL HIS MIGHT! Only to find out that Jeremy "the slam dunk champion" Evans had totally cleared him! How embarrassing. In a summer league in the hood, the crowd is all over the floor laughing shouting, pointing, and Turiaf would have been smiling too. It is just a funny moment that reminds you why you watch preseason NBA basketball... everyone has there fresh high jumping legs!

Should Kobe Bryant be Compared to Michael Jordan?

Michael Jordan vs Kobe Bryant has become a very interesting debate, argument, and topic among basketball players and fans. This generation versus that generation is sometimes really what is all about. The question was brought up to me, should Kobe Bryant even be COMPARED to Michael Jordan? But the question I ask my myself though is, should it even be a debate? The answer is absolutely NOT. First let me start by saying both of these players have legendary status, but comparing Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan is just utterly ridiculous. Now let me explain why.

Should Kobe Bryant be COMPARED to Michael Jordan…that is the Question

Should Kobe Bryant even be COMPARED to Michael Jordan?
They Look Alike...
Kobe Bryant just does not have the credentials Michael Jordan has. Kobe has 1 league MVP, 2 finals MVPs, and 2 scoring titles. Michael on the other hand has 5 league MVPs, 6 finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles, 2 steals titles, and defensive player of the year. That alone should be enough to shut this Michael Jordan vs Kobe Bryant argument down. But just in case it’s not let me dig a little deeper into the topic.

The NBA now is an extremely different NBA than the one Michael came from or out of. The defenders at the two guard in Jordan’s era were far more superior than the two guards of Kobe’s era. There was no defensive 3-seconds rule so players would just stay in the paint all day, which means it was more difficult to score inside the paint. Still, Jordan found a way to make it happen; bolstering a couple 37 and 35 points per game season averages (while play over 78 games).

Should Kobe Bryant be Compared to Michael Jordan?

If you want a few facts, Jordan was way more efficient and consistent when it came to his playoffs and finals performance. His game-play increased heavily when he got to the playoffs and finals, while Kobe’s game-play actually decreased during his time in playoffs and finals. There was also never a controversy about who was the leader or first option on Michael’s team like there was on Kobe’s team. Sure they were drafted into totally different circumstances, but Jordan was always number one not only on his team, but the league itself.

Should Kobe Bryant be COMPARED to Michael Jordan

Michael also knew how to sacrifice whatever he had to sacrifice for the better of his team and still provide the numbers. Whether he had to get more steals, rebounds, points, etc. he always knew how to fill in the gaps. Kobe just doesn’t have that ability to make players around him better. At the end of the day, Kobe is an amazing player, you can never take that away from him. He is probably top 4 two guards to play the game ever, but to compare him to Michael is just SILLY. It’s just TOO LATE to accomplish EVERYTHING Jordan has accomplished. Should Kobe Bryant even be compared to Michael Jordan, I think not and the career accomplishments agree with me.

Media Day Gets Kinda Testy for NBA - KG Not Speaking with Ray Allen

KG not cool with Allen
KG not cool with Allen
Well we’ve been waiting on this day if you’re an NBA fan and here it is folks…media day! And the big highlight for me what the grudge-holding center from Boston, Mr. Kevin Garnett. Garnett is not happy with Ray Allen (the former third part of the “Big Three” of the Boston Celtics). KG is not cool with Ray Allen anymore folks. He says he has lost his number and is no longer on speaking terms with the leagues best three-point shooter.

KG Not Speaking with Ray Allen

We wrote about this in our NBA 2012-2013 season preview, so I can understand this from a mental perspective. I’m not going to be cool with you until our playing days are over because you went and sat with the enemy on us. Don’t we think we’re getting petty around here? I’m going to stop speaking with a guy because he decided to move to Florida and work with a bunch a guys I don’t like? Why not just bulk up and beat his ass every time he comes to town and every time you go to South Beach? KG is KG,   he has his right to handle things the way he wants, but I think it is a bit petty. Nevertheless, you know he does play a lot of mind games with guys.
KG is probably talking to Allen as we’re writing this article noting I got the media in a frenzy… or at least telling Paul Pierce “Ray is going to be thinking about the fact that I don’t have his number any more, so he’s going to miss a whole bunch of shots!” Whatever the case, I just knew media day in the NBA would get kinda testy or feisty as the teams with stuff on the line and strong competitive attitudes will come out and be ready to talk (and hopefully walk).

kg not cool with allen
KG is not Talking to Ray Allen
The Celtics look primed up, Doc (Rivers) is actually making the Heat the target of the season. He is trying to keep them focused by reminding them daily of what the Heat did to them, and probably what Ray Allen has done to them too. This will lead to a grudging battle on the court, an intense season series, and if they meet in the playoffs, IT IS GOING DOWN! If the Celtics lose that one they are retiring and will have a long summer and retirement.

KG Not Speaking with Ray Allen Petty or Real?

On January 27th 2013, the Boston Celtics will host the crew from South Beach for the first time this coming season; and on October 30th 2012 they will go down to South Beach and watch Lebron James and crew get their rings and be officially crowned Champions. Mark your calendar for exciting basketball folks. KG is not cool with Ray Allen, and stuff like that makes for good basketball (and you know it).

The NBA 2012-2013 Season Preview

We’re just about 32 days away from the season starting, and about three or four days from the training camps beginning and I gotta tell ya; I’m pretty excited, I’m pretty pumped up. We had some BIG moves over the summer, team stacking in big markets is going to be the new trend, especially now that we’ve seen it happen and work in Miami Florida with the champion Miami Head. The NBA 2012-2013 season preview is what every NBA basketball fan is looking at to see how things are going to shape up and here at Post-up Due, we’re going to break down what we’ll be looking for and what we are predicting is going to happen this year.

Overview of the NBA 2012-2013 Season Preview

The High Flyers are Back...and they're Champs
In my opinion we are going to have the same teams doing well with a few new up and coming teams that will probably poke their head into the fray. Nevertheless, I believe we’re going to see the same ole bunch when it comes to the “big ticket” time of the year (the playoffs) because these other teams can’t fight with the overhaul. So here we have out top five teams this year and we’ll give the sixth team as bonus.

First) This years number one team in the NBA will be the Miami Heat. There is the quote, never underestimate the heart of a champion. One of the main reasons you have to keep the Miami Heat on there as the top contender is because of there dynamic duo of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade (new school version of Michael and Scottie except for this time Scottie (Lebron) is the better player).

Then when you add Chris Bosh in the big three, now you have a hard-knit nucleus who have been to the finals two years in a row (experience) winning one and are pretty dominant in playoff series as well as regular season games. They can win on the road and they have gone out to add some pretty good pieces to their already championship puzzle. Ray Allen is going to do wonders for them as they repeat this year to follow out the words Lebron James uttered when they had the signing party… “not one, not two, not three…” (you get the picture)!
The NBA 2012-2013 Season Preview
Two) the number two team this year is going to be the Oklahoma City Thunder; yes OKC. The reason is because they have taken steps each year, and while they had a couple good draft picks and added other minor pieces; they gained a world of experience. One thing they will get is a solid back up PG (nothing against D-Fish besides he can’t cut the mustard like he use to); but that will help. If the “bearded one” can get Ron Artest off his mind he will be vital in the playoff for these guys.
              OKC Back in the Hizzouse

Three) the LAKE-Show is back; after getting their ass spanked by the Thunder, and with Kobe beginning to get his affairs in order (people and himself mentioning he only has a few years left); it appears with one of the best point guards in the game and a worthy but often goofy center, Mr. Bryant would be on easy street for at least two years with titles. I think so but I think that OKC is not scared of them and neither will the Spurs. The Lakers are number three to me because of Kobe and Nash. Other than that, they are just exciting to watch like a soap opera; you’re thinking what’s going to happen next…with Dwight Howard. I just wonder if he’ll be doing as much smiling and laughing on the court as he did in Orlando, since he has a new boss (Mr. Bryant).

Lake Show Prime to Put on Shows
Four) we’re headed back east to BEAN-TOWN, and we’re selectingBoston because they made some good rookie and draft additions over the summer. They also picked up Dallas sharp shooter Jason Terry. The biggest reason they are fourth on my list is because of the edge they will be playing with. Doc Rivers, KG, Rondo, and Jason Terry all appear to have a strong dislike for the Heat and I think Doc has them going into every game pretending they are playing against the Miami Heat. And to add insult to injury, they lost their sharp-shooter to the Heat also (Ray Allen). These games this year against each other are going to be WAR and you better tune in for great basketball when you hear Miami is in Boston or Boston is in Miami.

Fifth) on the list is Indiana; the
Pacers also have a hate the Heat and “I can prove to the world we belong” mentality. Now I don’t believe they are going to win it all or even get the eastern conference finals, but they will wear out the eastern conference runner ups though. They have a strong bullying personality in their forwards and bench and with improved guard play they can be athletic. What they are lacking is confidence. But they are getting more exciting to watch, Danny Granger has to be a bit more assertive at the right times.

The Dark Horse Team for the NBA 2012-2013 Season Preview

My sixth) team are actually a combo; we have the Spurs and the Timberwolves. WHAT? Yep the mofo-ing Timberwolves. Kevin “don’t step on my head” Love is prime to get his team into the playoffs, and personally I believe if he can get them there, they will be dangerous for the first two rounds for any opponent they face. After that I believe they will realize they still need a few more pieces for them to actually win.

In this NBA preview, you may have noticed I didn’t talk about the Bulls, the Nets, the Clippers, the Rockets, Nuggets, Mavericks, Knicks, Grizzlies, or Sixers. The reason is because they are not going to win the title. These teams in my opinion are missing too many pieces to put a real run together. Nevertheless, because they are exciting, they got mentioned in this article and you already know I don’t post up junk. Holla back in our FaceBook group or right here with Google Plus-1 with your comments…

We just have a month to go, go vote and then go get your POP-CORN cuz we’re going up high.

Walking for Chicago Streets

Walk for Peace in Chicago with NBA
Walk for Peace in Chicago with NBA
Anyone that knows me knows that I love watching NBA basketball. And while that may be limited to five to six teams, I still just love watching the game. Over the summer, life is kinda slow for a NBA fan because not much is going on, so I watch the baseball scores, football highlights, and old NBA games. However, some pretty big news is circulating the NBA and that is a walk for peace in Chicago with NBA players.

If you are familiar with Chicago streets you know that it is pretty bad over there right now. In one weekend three weeks ago, twenty (20) people were shot in a span of twenty-four hours and that is just horrible. Some other guys thought so also and decided to do something about it.

Walk for Peace in Chicago with NBA Players Noah and Gibson

Quentin Richardson, a Chicago native, Joakim Noah (Bulls Center), and Taj Gibson (Bulls forward) all decided to lace up the shoes, but not to play ball, instead to walk against gang violence and talk to young gang members. This is a really nice thing to do because they are really killing in these streets and the younger guys who aren’t killing yet need to see, know, and understand there is a better way. There is light outside of their sometimes extremely dark neighborhoods.
Walk for Peace in Chicago with NBA
Walk for Peace in Chicago with NBA Players

NBA legend Isaiah Thomas was there and the entire thing made for a really good event. To me, these things are good for a moment and if the hand does not stay with the movement, one out of a hundred gang members lives improves. When you keep doing something every day, I believe you can reach more people. This is good for the Chicago Bulls because with All-Star and the former MVP, Derek Rose, out for most of the 2012-2013 NBA season, this event might be one of the few positive things these Chicago Bulls and their fans will see this season.

One of the goals for the walk in Chicago is to get rival gangs to come together to play a sport. Now this can be good and it can be bad because emotions tend to fly when you play sports, especially against your rival gang. Nevertheless, the mission is clear; let’s stop shooting each other and let’s start shooting hoops. Let’s start shooting for the stars to improve our lives, our families, our communities. Let’s stop taking each others lives for petty reasons and let’s fight the forces of evil together.

These guys could start a business and get training to do it, they could be back in school, they could be taught how and why it is vital for them to be part of society and not the dark side that has evil intentions all the time. The walk for peace in Chicago with NBA players is great, and we have to build on this by teaching the essentials of life to these young men and women. We’re just happy the NBA and these guys took a step to help a violent filled city today!

Team USA 2012 Opens with a Spanker

Team USA comes out opening exhibition against the Dominican Republic winning by over 50 points and if they continue to do that, they will certainly be able to entertain the argument that they could last and win against the Dream Team.

Of course that is after this team puts 11 people in the Hall of Fame (as Michael Jordan) said in an interview after Kobe's comments. But it was a nice opener for this team; they showed defense, tenacity, speed, and basketball skill; especially coming from Kevin Durant.

Kobe did not really go for the gusto; I think he is a great scorer (in traffic) but Durant and Anthony (Melo)
are far more natural in their scoring ability. We'll see more on these guys later.

Did Kobe Bite Off More Than He Can Chew?

Kobe the Bean, the Black Mamba Bryant came on and said this years USA Men's Olympic Basketball team (2012) would pull off a victory against the heavily known Hall of Fame loaded 1992 US Dream Team. Now I listened to his arguments or points and they were certainly noted and valid. The athleticism of the 2012 team would certainly run the 1992 team off the court.

The point guard position would hound the 1992 team; I mean I can see Magic and (John) Stockton calling for the paramedics after (Russell) Westbrook, Deron Williams, and CP3 (Christ Paul) run a fun clinic against them. Outside of the athleticism and the point guard positions; there is no other advantage the 2012 team has. Sure the 1992 team had a few players who were perhaps at or almost past their prime like Larry Bird.

Would we lose to 2012 Team?...Nah
Nevertheless, they still beat opponents by tons of points. And these days more NBA players are playing for these international teams, so you can't expect the USA team today to knock guys out by 40 or 50 points when it was the 92 Dream Team that opened the awareness and doors for international players to step up their games up.

Back to Kobe's big bite statement: I think it is safe to say there still is no answer for MJ. Scottie and Mike were in their primes, fresh off back-to-back titles and were getting up and down the floor. The Dream Team's size would probably fair too much for the 2012 team here but I can say this, it would not be a blow out.

Personally, I just don't see answers for Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Pat Ewing, and MJ. And let's not forget Scottie Pippen, who Lebron James is just a big stronger and badder version of, Pippen can slow down the point guards all the way to Durant in his prime.
