They did not play this series like they were confident, especially after the blow out in game three... you could see the worry in Durant's face and with all the out of control talk about Westbrook's game; there was sure to be many breakdowns.
The thing is they were not mentally ready to sustain the Maverick's attack and that is what ultimately got them sent home. The last two games; they had 8 point leads or more in the fourth quarter... 15 in game four; and they squandered them. That is the sign of a really young team.
Now I'm going to post you up real quick.
Next year, will be a better year for the Thunder but right now; it's Dirk's time. I was wrong in this series; I picked the Thunder in 6 but that was because I was doing it in spite. I purposely was going against my buddy; and I told him that. But nevertheless, I was wrong; I had the hunch that Dallas would win behind Dirk and Kidd.
So they are the Western Conference Champions; and they await the winner of the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat series; which could be Miami if they win tonight.
